
Heritage Signature Chorale to Present 25th Anniversary Celebration Concert
By David SalazarHeritage Signature Chorale will present a 25th anniversary celebration concert on May 17, 2025, at the First Congregation United Church of Christ in Washington D.C.
Starting at 6 p.m. local time, audiences will bear witness to a program that features African American spirituals with arrangements such as “Ride On, King Jesus,” “The Battle of Jericho,” and “Elijah, Rock!,” alongside poignant hymns like “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” and “The Majesty and Glory of Your Name.” Also on the program will be works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Ken Berg, Uzee Brown, Jr., Anton Bruckner, Nathan Carter, Cedric Dent, Tom Fettke, Larry Fleming, Moses Hogan, Betty Jacobson, Hall Johnson, T. Tertius Noble, Eugene Thamon Simpson, Z. Randall Stroope, and Mack Wilberg.
Stanley J. Thurston will conduct the showcase.
The Heritage Signature Chorale was founded in 2000 with an aim of preserving the legacy of African American choral music.
