Haymarket Opera Company Unveils its 2024 Season

Haymarket Opera Company has announced its 2024 season.

The season kicks off with “La decollazione di San Giovanni Battista.” Mezzo-soprano Fleur Barron makes her Haymarket debut, along with bass-baritone Christian Pursell as Herod and tenor Eric Ferring. Sopranos Erica Schuller and Kristen Knutson return to Haymarket. Craig Trompeter leads the chamber ensemble.

Performance Date: March 22, 2024

Next up is the “Early Opera Cabaret,” the company’s annual fundraiser gala and concert.

Performance Date: April 25, 2024

Grammy Award-winning soprano Sarah Brailey, soprano Hannah De Priest, mezzo-soprano Quinn Middleman, tenor Scott J. Brunscheen, and bass-baritone Douglas Williams star in Handel’s “La Resurrezione.” Christian Curnyn joins Haymarket to conduct its orchestra of 18th-century period instruments.

Performance Date: June 14, 2024

Closing out the season is Händel’s “Tamerlano.” The cast features soprano Emily Birsan, mezzo-sopranos Kathleen Felty and Emily Fons, countertenor Ryan Belongie, tenor David Portillo, and bass-baritone David Govertsen. Craig Trompeter conducts.

Performance Date: September 19, 21, & 22, 2024
