Half-Light Productions to Present ‘Zombie Opera’

Half-Light Productions will present the fourth annual “Zombie Opera” concert on Oct. 28.

This year’s cast features sopranos Molly Dunn and Yohji Daquio, mezzo-soprano Rachelle Pike, tenor Ta’u Pupu’a, bass Kofi Hayford, and bass-baritone Eliam Ramos. The chorus is made up of North River Sing members, students from New Jersey City
University, and community members, under the direction of choirmaster Dr Robert Prowse. Together they will perform repertoire from “Faust,” “La Traviata,” “La Boheme,” “Carmen,” “Rigoletto,” and others.

Carmine Aufiero leads the NYC based orchestra TerpsiKord. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker and founder of Half-Light Productions, Catriona Rubenis-Stevens directs.

The Zombie Opera is set to take place in in Jersey City’s Hamilton Park from 6 – 7 pm. The concert will include American Sign Language interpretation.

Following the main event is an 80s themed Prom Party in the Park starting at 8 pm. Food trucks and other vendors will kick off the event at 4 pm.
