Fort Worth Opera Announces 2023-24 Season

The Fort Worth Opera has announced its 2023-24 season.

The season opens with “Dinner with the Stars,” a fundraising dinner hosted by Joe Illick, Music Director Emeritus and dear friend to the company. The dinner will feature soloists Vanessa Becerra, Siphokazi Molteno, Alok Kumar, and Kofi Hayford.

Performance Date: Sept. 22, 2023

The continues with “La Médium” in Spanish by Gian Carlo Menotti. Directed by Malena Dayen, the opera tells the story of Madame Flora, played by Janara Kellerman, a fraudulent medium who pretends to communicate with the dead, along with her two assistants, Monica, played by Cristina María Castro and Toby – a silent friend.

Performance Dates: Oct. 20-22, 2023

Menotti’s “Amahl and The Night Visitors” will be presented by Fort Worth Opera featuring Hattie Mae Lesley Resident and Studio Artists.

Performance Dates: Dec. 8-10, 2023

The Wintersong: A Musical Holiday Celebration & Sing-a-long will be presented by Fort Worth Opera featuring Hattie Mae Lesley Resident and Studio Artists. 

Performance Date: Dec. 16, 2023

The regional premiere of “dwb (Driving While Black)” will be presented by Fort Worth Opera in Collaboration with the Kimbell Art Museum and Texas Christian University.

Performance Dates: Feb. 16-24, 2024

Puccini’s “La Bohème” will be performed in a Semi-Staged Performance. The cast list includes award-winning Elizabeth Caballero, Alok Kumar, and Kofi Hayford.

Performance Dates: April 5-7, 2024

The company will present an Evening with Morris Robinson.

Performance Date: June 18, 2024
