Guildford Choral & Guildford Symphony Orchestra Reunite for Spring 2026 Concert

By David Salazar

Guildford Choral and Guildford Symphony Orchestra will reunite at GLive in Guildford for a spring concert on May 16, 2026.

The program features Puccini’s “Messa di Gloria,” Haydn’s “Te Deum,” and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 with Jonathan Willcocks conducting Guildford Choral and Darrell Davison conducting the Guildford Symphony Orchestra.

The soloists are tenor Sang Eup Son and baritone Trevor Eliot Bowes. Son, a South Korean tenor currently pursuing an MA in Opera at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, has performed leading roles including Rodolfo, Werther, Alfredo, and Almaviva in productions across Seoul and London. An alumnus of the Georg Solti Accademia and the Opéra de Baugé Festival, he is a prize-winner at both the Soori Music Competition and the Joongang Music Competition.

Canadian-born lyric bass Trevor Eliot Bowes studied at the University of Toronto and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before being selected as one of Barbara Hannigan’s Equilibrium Young Artists, and has since built an extensive career spanning English National Opera, the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne, Opera North, and international engagements with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Munich Philharmonic.

Guildford Choral is one of England’s longest-established choirs, with over 140 auditioned members. The Guildford Symphony Orchestra has been performing for over a century.
