Garsington Opera Unveils 2025 Award Winners

Garsington Opera has announced the recipients of its 2025 awards.

The Leonard Ingrams Awards, given in recognition of outstanding talent, were bestowed upon Hugh Cutting and Vuyisa Xipu. Butting performed the role of Unulfo in “Rodelinda” and covered Bertarido in that same opera while performing the role for OperaFirst. Meanwhile, Xipu was in the “Queen of Spades” and “Elisir d’Amore” choruses and covered Nemorino in “Elisir d’Amore” while performing the role for OperaFirst.

Recipients of the Chorus Awards include James Micklethwaite (Helen Clarke Award) and Alexandria Moon (Simon Sandbach Award).

The brand new Nicky Creed Award, in recognition of Creed’s 25 years with the company and recognizing someone who has made significant contributions to the season, either on or off stage, was given to Laura Hounsell, trainee assistant director of “Rodelinda” and “Fidelio.”
