The Canadian Opera Company’s Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition finalists have been announced.

Those moving forward in the competition are sopranos Gabrielle Turgeon, Elisabeth St-Gelais, and Emily Rocha, tenor Matthew Bermudez, baritone Jamal al Titi, and basses Matthew Li, and Duncan Stenhouse. At the annual fundraiser and vocal competition each participant will perform an aria accompanied by the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra, for a shot at cash prizes and an invitation to join the company’s Ensemble Studio.

The panel of judges includes Perryn Leech, Roberto Mauro, soprano Adrianne Pieczonka, Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, and Thom Allison. Audience members will be able to cast live-votes for the Audience Choice Award winner. All proceeds will support the Ensemble Studio.

The Centre Stage: Ensemble Studio Competition will be held on Oct. 26 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
