Jonathan Palant, the director and founder of the Dallas Street Choir and the Credo Community Choir, has launched “Artistry Today,” an online education platform for artists.

Every week, Palant, who is also Associate Professor and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Texas at Dallas, is launching a 30-minute Facebook Live event modeled on James Lipton’s iconic “Inside the Actors Studio.”

The first of these interviews launched on April 30 and featured legendary mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade. Next up, on May 7, Palant will talk to composer Jake Heggie. Heggie is the composer of such operas as “Moby Dick,” “Dead Man Walking,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Three Decembers,” and “Great Scott.”

On May 14, the series will showcase composer Morten Lauridsen. Lauridsen’s has created several choral works throughout his career.
