Francisco Brito & Paola Gardina Lead CortinAteatro’s ‘Il Barbiere di Siviglia’

Italy’s CortinAteatro is set to present Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” on August 12, 2021.

The opera, which will be presented at the Alexander Girardi Hall di Cortina d’Ampezzo, is a co-production with Musincantus, Fondazione Cassamarca, and the Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta.

The cast will be headed by Paola Gardina as Rosina and Francisco Brito as Almaviva. Meanwhile, Biagio Pizzuti will sing the role of Bartolo while Jacopo Cacco will conduct. Tommaso Franchin will direct the production and the cast will be rounded by Bruno Taddia as Figaro, Roberto Rinaldo as Basilio, Alessandro Sessolo as Fiorello, Federica Gasparella as Berta, and Giacomo Contro as the Officier.

In order to enter the performance audiences will be required to have a Green Pass as Italy has begun enforcing it as of August 6.
