Fabio Sartori & Paola Giardina Lead CortinAteatro’s 2021 Edition

The CortinATeatro in the Comune di Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy has announced its 2021 season which will open on July 17 and run through Sept. 10.

The festival will see the participation of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto, Orchestra Regionale Filarmonia Veneta, Teatro Sociale di Rovigo, and OPV – Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto.

For the purposes of this article, we will only highlight the operatic and vocal performances.

The Alexander Girardi Hall will hold an Hommage to Giuseppe Verdi which will celebrate the 120th anniversary of the composer’s death. Fabio Sartori, Riccardo Zanellato, and actress Lella Costa headline the evening which will be conducted by Gerardo Felisatti.

Performance Date: July 25, 2021

The Alexander Girardi Hall will hold a production of Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” by Tommaso Franchin. The cast will inlcude Paola Gardina, Alessandro Luongo, and Francisco Brito. Jacopo Cacco conducts the production.

Performance Date: August 12, 2021

There will be two Masterclasses for young rising stars from August 22-25, 2021. The operatic masterclass will be in collaboration with l’Istituto Musicale Dea Zima Musica+Cortina and with Maestro Enrico Stinchelli.
