Italian Opera Theaters to Require Green Pass Effective August 6

Italy’s Green Pass will come into effect on August 6, requiring opera audience members to show EU Digital Covid Certificate.

Among the theaters that are currently opened for the summer and will require the pass are Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Macerata Opera Festival, Rossini Opera Festival, Accademia Chigiana di Siena, Teatro Regio di Torino, and Arena di Verona.

The Green Pass, which can be presented in digital format or as a card must show that the audience member has at least received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or has received a negative COVID-19 test in the last 48 hours . It can also show that the audience member has recovered from COVID in the last six months

The pass will also be required in order to eat indoors, enter events, pools, museums, and cinemas. It will not be required on public transport or flights within Italy and outdoor dining will not require the pass. The Green Pass will be effective in 13 countries including Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, and Slovenia.
