Francesca Pia Vitale, Ekaterina Sannikova, Issachah Savage, Eugénie Joneau, Francesca Aspromonte & Huw Montague Rendall Lead Opéra de Rouen’s 2026-27 Season

Opéra de Rouen Normandie has announced its 2026-27 season.

Opera

Aleksei Isaev, Peixin Chen, Ekaterina Sannikova, and Matteo Roma star in Verdi’s “Macbeth.” Pierre Dumoussaud conducts the production by Ambre Kahan. 

Performance Dates: Sept. 25-Oct. 3, 2026


Alexandre Duhamel leads Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale” with Francesca Pia Vitale, Matteo Mancini, and Pietro Adaini.

Performance Dates: Nov. 10-14, 2026


Stephen Sondheim’s “Company” will star Loïc Suberville, Jasmine Roy, Scott Emerson, Jeanne Jerosme, Sinan Bertrand, Marion Préïté, Alicede Ferran,Loaï Rahman, Eva Gentili, Nathan Desnyder,Mélanie Paiement, Neïma Naouri, and Lucille Cazenave. Charlotte Gauthier conducts the production by James Bonas.

Performance Dates: Dec. 18 & 19, 2026


Wagner’s “Tannhäuser” will star Issachah Savage, Dorottya Láng, Magdalena Hinterdobler, Samuel Hasselhorn, and Ain Anger. Pierre Dumoussaud conducts and David Bobée directs.

Performance Dates: Feb. 2-7, 2027


Julien Henric, Eugénie Joneau, Jérôme Boutillier, and François Lis star in Berlioz’s “La Damnation de Faust.” Pierre Dumoussaud conducts.

Performance Dates: March 7-11, 2027


Lucile Richardot, Caroline Weynants,Blandine de Sansal, Caroline Bardot, Richard Pittsinger, Oscar Golden-Lee, Lewis Hammond, Randol Rodriguez, Lysandre Châlon, Tristan Hambleton, and Etienne Bazola star in Purcell’s “The Fairy Lady” with Sébastien Daucé conducting. Léo Cohen-Paperman directs.

Performance Dates: March 19 & 20, 2027


The season concludes with Offenbach’s “La Belle Hélène” starring Antoinette Dennefeld, Sahy Ratia, Marc Mauillon, Lionel Lhote, Jean-Luc Ballestra, Juliette Mey, Abel Zamora, René Ramos Premier, Raphaël Brémard, and Sarah Charles. Hervé Niquet conducts the production by Alice Masson.

Performance Dates: June 13-20, 2027


Concerts 

Pierre Dumoussaud and Bruno de Sá team up for music by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Rachmaninov, Lili Boulanger, Ravel, Granados, Saint-Saëns, Augusta Holmès, Heinich Proch, and Béla Bartók.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16-18, 2026


Léo Warynski conducts Camille Chopin in music by Johann Strauss, André Messager, Jacques Offenbach, Georges Bizet, and Leopold Mozart.

Christophe Rousset conducts Francesca Aspromonte and Federico Fiorio in a program featuring works by Claudio Monteverdi, Francesco Cavalli, Giovanni Battista Castello, and Girolamo Fontana.

Performance Date: March 16, 2027


Laurence Equilbey conducts a Mozart and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach program with Sandrine Piau, Rose Naggar-Tremblay, Fabio Trümpy, and Andreas Wolf as the soloists.

Performance Dates: April 2 & 3, 2027


Emmanuelle Haïm and Véronique Gens perform works by Jean-Baptiste Lully, André Campra, André Cardinal Destouches, and Jean-Philippe Rameau.

Félix Bénati conducts a family version of “Une Fille au Regiment.” Gloria Tronel, Abel Zamora, Jiwon Song, Sophie Pontjiclis, Jean-François Baron, and Pierre-Yves Cras star.

Performance Dates: May 5-15, 2027


Huw Montague Rendall and Hélio Vida perform in recital with music by Poulenc, Fauré, Schönberg, and Mahler.

Performance Date: May 11, 2027


The Grandes voix d’Afrique will be featured.

Thomas Dunford and Lea Desandre perform a baroque program of music by Georg Philipp Telemann, Georg Friedrich Händel, and Jean-Baptiste Lully.

Juliette Mey and Sarah Charles perform works by Offenbach and Bizet.

Performance Date: June 2, 2027


Thomas Tacquet, Éléonore Pancrazi, and Eudes Bernstein team up for music by Joseph Kosma, Hanns Eisler, Paul Arma, Louis Saguer, and Erich Itor Kahn.

Performance Dates: June 4 & 5, 2027


Vincent Dumestre and Julie Fuchs lead a program of music by Luigi Rossi, Girolamo Frescobaldi, and Francesco Cavalli.
