Frameline Features Film About Historic Transgender Mezzo

By David Salazar

Frameline, a nonprofit LGBTQ+ film and media organization, is featuring trans mezzo soprano Breanna Sinclairé as part of its free Frameline Voice Series.

The series offers up free YouTube content on a monthly basis and this month’s offering takes us into the life Sinclairé for its full 13-minute runtime. The documentary was screened at the 2016 San Francisco Transgender Film Festival.

Sinclairé, of course, is the first transgender woman to sing the American national anthem at a sporting event when in 2015 she performed at the Oakland Athletics Stadium to a crowd of 30,000. She studied at California Institute of the Arts and completed her masters at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
