Barcelona Obertura has announced its 2024 Spring Festival. Here is a rundown of the vocal performances.

Teodor Currentzis leads MusicAeterna in a performance of Mozart’s Requiem.

Performance Date: March 11, 2024

Fleur Barron headlines a program featuring music by Ravel, Montsalvatge, and Raquel García-Tomás. Ludovic Morlot conducts the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra.

Performance Date: March 15, 2024

Harry Bicket leads The English Concert and Cor de Cambra del Palau in “L’Incoronazione di Poppea.” The opera stars Jeanine De Bique, Liv Redpath, Maite Beaumont, Iestyn Davies, Justin Kim, and James Way.

Performance Date: March 16, 2024

Jordi Savall conducts Les Concert des Nations and La Capella Reial de Catalunya in Bach’s “Passion, according to Saint John.”

Performance Date: March 17, 2024

John Eliot Gardiner leads the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroqe Soloists in Händel’s “Israel in Egypt.”

Performance Date: March 18, 2024

André Schuen stars in a program featuring works by Wagner and Mahler. Anna Sulkowska-Migon conducts the Ensemble de l’Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Performance Date: March 19, 2024

Soprano Anna Devin stars in a program featuring music by Joan Maria Guix. Ludovic Morlot conducts the concert which also showcases the talents of pianist Denis Kozhukhin. Also on the program is music by Sibelius and Brahms.

Performance Date: March 22, 2024

Closing out the festival is Händel’s “Messiah” as arranged by Mozart. Josep Pons conducts the Liceu Opera Orchestra & Choir. Soloists include Julia Lezhneva, Kate Lindsey, Richard Croft, and Kresimir Strazanac.
