The showcase, which will take place at St. Mary’s Church in New York, will feature two works Telemann (“Daß Herz und Sinn, o schwacher Mensch,” TWV 1:194 and “Endlich wird die Stunde schlagen,” TVW 1:440) alternating with two works by Doug Balliett, including “Cantata for the First Sunday of Advent” and “Cantata for the Second Sunday of Advent.”

Soprano Raha Mirzadegan and tenor Lukas Papenfusscline headline the performance.

Theotokos is an ensemble dedicated to baroque church music, performing a new cantata every week. The organization also specializes in “theologically relevant baroque and pre-baroque music” as well as early American church music.
