The Festspielhaus Baden Baden has announced a cast change for its performance of Handel’s “II trionfo del Tempo e del Disignanno” on April 8, 2023.

The company said that Carlo Vistoli will replace Iestyn Davies in the role of Disgnanno.

For his part, Davies took to social media and said, “Unfortunately do you being freakin’ voiceless still after 11 days of cold, I have had to withdraw from tomorrow’s Handel/Il Trionfo with the Berlin Philharmonic in Baden Baden. But, cheered up by the sweetest message from my step in Carlo Vistoli! What a mensch.”

Vistoli joins a cast that includes Elsa Benoit as Bellezza, Julia Lezhneva as Piacere, and Anicio Zorzi Giustiniani as Tempo. Emmanuelle Haïm conducts the oratorio.
