Festival Opera to Launch New Programming with ‘And Yet She Persisted’

The Festival Opera Artist Recital Series, in collaboration with the Piedmont Center for the Arts, has announced the first of the online concerts in the company’s new digital programming “SalON Demand!”

Titled “And Yet She Persisted,” the concert will be headlined soprano Carrie Hennessey and pianist Jennifer Reason as they celebrate women composers. The duo will perform works by such composers as Pauline Viardot, Amy Beach, Libby Larsen, and Julia Seeholzer.

Hennessey has appeared with such companies as the Chamber Society of Sacramento,  West Edge Opera, Sacramento Opera, the International Mahler Festival, and the Pacific Symphony, among others.

Premiering on March 28, 2021, tickets will begin at $40 per household, with purchasers receiving a link to stream the concert on demand to their devices and smart TV. Purchasers will also receive access to a live chat on Facebook, hosted by Ruchi Kapila, who will be joined by the artists and Festival Opera’s General Director Zachary Gordin.
