Experiments in Opera to Present Two World Premieres in its Winter/Spring 2025 Season

Experiments in Opera announces its 2025 Winter/Spring season.

Soprano Anchal Dhir and mezzo-soprano Rocky Duval give the workshop performance of Kamala Sankaram and Paul Muldoon’s “Custom of the Coast.” They are accompanied by the Flux Quartet. “Custom of the Coast” is co-presented by Works & Process and National Sawdust, and is slated for premiere at the Kilkenny Arts Festival in August 2025.

Performance Date: February 9, 2025 (National Sawdust)

SOLOperas presents a double bill of new operas for a solo performer. Jason Cady’s “This is Not About Natalie” stars soprano Sarah Daniels who sings while accompanying herself on electric guitar, along with ventriloquism. Anna Heflin’s “The INcomplete Cosmicomics” is performed by actor and cellist Aaron Wolff in the role of the Italo Calvino character Qfwfq. Shannon Sindelar directs.

Performance Dates: March 20-22, 2025 (The Tank)

“Rainbird” by Aaron Siegel and Mallory Catlett finally gets its world premiere after seven years in the making. Vocalists are Gelsey Bell, Katie Geissinger, Chris DiMeglio, and Shurmi Dhar. They are joined by instrumentalists Tariq Al-Sabir, Andie Tanning, and Jess Tsang. Catlett directs.

Performance Dates: April 16-20, 2025 (Mabou Mines)
