By Logan Martell

On Dec. 21, 2019, The Eurasia Festival will present the latest installment of their Park Avenue Concert Series, featuring a broad program of opera, musical theatre, and art songs.

The roster of artists was drawn from students of the “Azatt Sessions,” a series of masterclasses, led by director Mark Verzatt and conductor Aza Sydykov, which help prepare artists for auditions by working on their musical, dramatic, and linguistic skills. Accompanied by Sydykov, Saturday night’s artists will include sopranos Mariana Barbosa, Amelia Burshe, Natalia Strzelecka, and tenor Frederick Schlick; Verzatt will also provide narration.

The Eurasia Festival comes as a project of the Kyrgyz American Foundation, whose mission is to preserve and showcase the cultural heritage of Eurasian region by bringing it to American audiences. The concert will be held at the Eurasia Cultural Center in New York City, which hosts the Kyrgyz American Foundation and the Eurasia Festival.
