Ermonela Jaho & Eleonora Buratto Lead Opera Rara’s Concerts

Opera Rara has announced two upcoming concerts.

Opera Rara will team up with Sir Mark Elder and The Hallé to present the original 1857 version of Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. The version has been edited by Opera Rara’s Repertoire Consultant Roger Parker for Casa Ricordi.

The concert performance will star Nicola Alaimo (Simon Boccanegra), Eleonora Buratto (Amelia), Iván-Ayón Rivas (Gabriele Adorno), William Thomas (Jacopo Fiesco), Sergio Vitale (Paolo Albiani), David Shipley (Pietro), and Beth Moxon (Amelia’s Maid).

Performance Date: April 18, 2024

Ermonela Jaho and Carlo Rizzi will perform a recital at Wigmore Hall as part of the “Donizetti Song Project.” Jaho will sing rare songs by Donizetti, including six modern-day premieres, alongside those of his contemporaries Bellini, Verdi, Gounod, and Viardot. Violinist Marco Rizzi will also perform.
