Ensemble ArtChoral to Present ‘Moonlight’ A Capella Concert

By Logan Martell

On Jan. 15, 2023, Ensemble ArtChoral will present an a capella choral celebration concert “Moonlight,” at the Maison Symphonique.

Led by Matthias Maute, 24 singers will perform a number of choral selections such as Mozart’s “Ave verum corpus” and Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata,” arranged for chorale and piano. The singers will also be joined by 200 members from over five different live choruses in a showcase of the voice.

“Choral singing allows us to express our deepest emotions. By blending the voices together in a choir, it allows us to portray the very essence of our humanity in the most beautiful of ways,” explained Matthias Maute, Artistic Director of the Ensemble ArtChoral in an official press statement.

A recipient of the PRIX OPUS Musical Event of the Year in 2020, Ensemble ArtChoral brings the art form to audiences in Quebec and throughout the world. Their upcoming ART CHORAL project featuring a capella music through the history of choral singing is currently in the works with ATMA records label.
