The English Touring Opera has announced a cast change for “Lucrezia Borgia” on March 24.

The company said, “due to illness, Richard Dowling is stepping in to sing the role of Rustighello.”

Dowling is a Royal Academy of Music graduate and Opera Prelude supported singer who has performed lead roles for English Touring Opera and Garsington Opera. The tenor has previously performances with English Touring Opera, include productions of Mozart’s ‘Cosi fan tutte’ as Ferrando, Bach’s ‘St John’ and ‘St Matthew’ Passions, and a triple bill featuring works by Purcell, Carissimi, and Gesualdo.

The tenor joins a cast that includes Thomas Elwin, Katie Coventry, and Aidan Edwards. Gerry Cornelius conducts the production by Eloise Lally.
