English Touring Opera Announces 2022 ‘Handelfest’

English Touring Opera is set to present “Handelfest” this fall.

The company will showcase three operas across several cities throughout the UK.

Kicking things off will be “Ottone.” The opera will star James Hall, Nazan Fikret, Kieron-Connor Valentine, Lauren Young, and Edward Jowie. Christopher Moon-Little will be the revival director with Gerry Cornelius conducting The Old Street Band. The opera will appear in London, Poole, Great Malvern, Buxton, and Exeter.

Performance Dates: Oct. 1 – Nov. 9, 2022

“Agrippina,” also playing in London, Poole, Great Malvern, Buxton, and Exeter, will star Paula Sides, Hilary Cronin, Edward Hawkins, Esme Bronwen-Smith, Timothy Morgan, Matthew Paine, Jerome Knox, and Edward Jowle.

Conducting will be Leo Duarte, who will lead The Old Street Band. Bradley Travis will be the revival director.   

Performance Dates: Oct. 7 – Nov. 11, 2022

Closing out the fall season would be the premiere of the children’s opera “Tutankhamun’s Shoes.” The opera by Rosabella Gregory and Robin Norton-Hale, will bow in Wimbledon and Oxford. It will star Claire Wild, Judy Louie Brown, Keith Pun, and Adam Maxey. Lysanne van Overbeek will direct and Erika Gundesen will conduct and perform at the piano.

Performance Dates: Oct. 21 – 28, 2022
