Emőke Baráth & Levy Sekgapane Lead Malmö Opera’s 2021-22 Season

Performance Dates: Sept. 11-Nov. 28, 2021
Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” is set to star Christopher Ainslie, Elisabet Einarsdóttir, Tobias Nilsson, Timothy Augustin, Tuva Semmingsen, Sigrid Bøe, Zachary Altman, Caspar Engdahl, Conny Thimander, Maria Streijffert, Philip Christensson, Eric Roos, Nathan Haller, and Sebastian Durán. Lynne Hockney directs.
Performance Dates: Oct. 2-Nov. 6, 2021
Germaine Tailleferre’s “Ledaren” will be presented in a production by Maria Sundqvist. The opera will star Andreas Landin The, Ola Simonsson The, Negar Zarassi, Fabian Dûberg, and Helena Magnusson.
Performance Dates: Nov. 22-Dec.11, 2021
Martinu “Komedi på en bro” will star Helena Magnusson, Sebastian Durán, Andreas Landin, Maria Sanner, and Ola Simonsson. Lars Ljungberg conducts the production by Maria Sundqvist.

Levy Sekgapane, Rafael Fingerlos, and Theresa Kronthaler star in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

Stuart Jackson, Elisabet Einarsdottir, Emőke Baráth, Morten Grove Frandsen, Sarah Aristidou, Sebastian Monti, and Kari Dahl Nielsen star in Mozart’s “Mitradite.” Ralf Pleger directs.

Maxime Pascal will conduct a double bill headed by Poulenc’s “La voix humaine” and Berlioz’s “Harold en Italie” with Nicholas Shardlow as viola soloist.

Cornelia Beskow performs Wagner’s Wesendock Lieder with Magnus Fryklund. The program also includes music by Wilhelm Stenhammar and Franz Berwald.
