
Morgan Jourdain Appointed to Major Role at Opéra National de Paris’ Youth Choral Training Program
By David SalazarMorgan Jourdain has been appointed to the position of chorus master of the Opéra National de Paris’ new youth choral training program.
Starting on Sept. 1, 2026, Jourdain will be charged with recruiting young singers to be a part of the choir, which will commence in September 2026, alongside the organization’s recently announced youth choral training program. He will then endeavor to develop and implement the choir’s education program in collaboration with the Paris Opera Academy, as well as direct rehearsals and concerts, and assign students to the organization’s productions.
Journdain is the conductor of the Maîtrise de Radio France. He is a major proponent of forgotten works and in 2014, reconstructed and completed J.S. Bach’s “Trausermusik” BWV 244a.
The training program was announced in May 2025 with the aim of providing opportunities for participation in the lyrical program and scenes at the Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille. Students will also be given vocal and movement training, specific to theatrical expression.
