Eleonora Buratto, Giorgio Berrugi & Simone Piazzola Lead Teatro Massimo’s ‘Ernani’ Livestream

Teatro Massimo di Palermo is set to live stream a production of Giuseppe Verdi and Francesco Maria Piave’s opera “Ernani” on Feb. 26, 2021 at 8 p.m. CET.

The opera will star Eleonora Buratto in the role of Elvira, Simone Piazzola as Don Carlos, Michele Pertusi in the role of Silva, Irene Savignano as Giovanna, Carlo Bosi in the role of Don Riccardo, Andrea Pellegrini as Jago, and Giorgio Berrugi in the title role.

Omer Meir Wellber conducts the Teatro Massimo Orchestra in the production by Ludovico Rajata. Costume designs by Francesco Zito. Ciro Visco is the Chorus Master.

The live stream of “Ernani” is a part of the project “Aperti, nonostante tutto.” Audiences can check it out on Teatro Massimo WebTv.

Italian theaters and opera houses are closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, and many theaters have switched to streaming.
