
Eleonora Buratto Awarded Famed Mantua Prize

The Italian soprano took to social media and said, “I am truly honored to receive the Edicola del virgilio d’oro from the Municipality of Mantua. This is not only a prestigious award but also a gesture of esteem and affection from the citizens and institutions of my hometown. I sincerely thank those who supported my nomination, the Presidency of the Municipal Council and the Mayor of Mantua.”
The “Edicola di Virgilio in Oro” is awarded to individuals from Mantova, whether by birth or adoption, who have benefited the city in any way. This can be by enhancing its prestige through their personal qualities or by selflessly serving its various institutions.
Born in Mantua, Buratto has become an international opera star performing at many of the world’s greatest theaters. This season she performs in Baden-Baden, Valencia, Berlin, London, and Gstaad.
