Eleonora Buratto Wins Major Italian Award

Eleonora Buratto has been named Cavaliere dell’Ordine “al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.”

The honor will be awarded by the president of the Republic of Italy at a ceremony on June 2 at the Ministro della Difesa Crosetto.

In a statement, Buratto said, “I don’t have words to describe the joy and the pride of this honorary award.”

The ceremony will be televised on Rai 1 at 9:45.

Buratto recently sang “La Bohème” at the Metropolitan Opera and is set to return to the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for “Madama Butterfly.” She is also set to join Elina Garanca on tour this summer in Austria and Latvia. Next season she performs in Brescia, Parma, Vienna, Barcelona, and New York.
