Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble Announces New Leadership

Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble has announced new changes to its leadership.

First up, the company created a new Executive Director position which Marianna Mott Newirth has held since March. She is a librettist and creative producer and was the dramaturge for the company’s first commissioned opera “Princess Maleine.”

Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble also installed co-Chairs Nermin Ahmad and Minjae Kim. The company will also be adding Vanessa Cariddi, Kenny Harmon, and John Yohalem to the board.

Ahmad is a businesswoman who managed NY operations for a global environment company. Kim is a litigation attorney with JonesDay in New York.

Cariddi is a mezzo-soprano who has collaborated with Nico Muhly, Osvaldo Golijov, Tobias Picker, and Rufus Wainwright. Harmon is a dell’Arte Opera Ensemble alumnus who performed several roles with the company. He is also a lyricist and book writer and has worked in financial services for a number of years. Finally, Yohalem is a writer who has edited and published “Enchanté: The Journal for the Urbane Pagan” and has contributed to a number of publications, including The New York Times Book Review, Fanfare, Opera News, and Seattle Weekly, among others.
