Danielle de Niese, Alessandro Corbelli, Jacques Imbrailo Headline Glyndebourne Opera’s Streaming Options in July

The Glyndebourne Opera has announced the next operas that it will present as part of its “Open House” streaming service.

First up will be Britten’s “Billy Budd.” The opera, which was directed by Michael Grandage and conducted by Mark Elder, stars John Mark Ainsley as Captain Vere, Darren Jeffery as Ratcliffe, Phillip Ens as Claggart, and Jacques Imbrailo in the title role. Other cast members include Alasdair Elliott, Matthew Rose, Toby Girling, John Moore, Alexander Robin Baker, and Peter Gijsbertsen.

Streaming Date: July 12, 2020

Next up is “The Barber of Seville” with a cast starring Danielle de Niese, Alessandro Corbelli, Taylor Stayton, Christophoros Stamboglis, Janis Kelly, and Björn Bürger.  Enrique Mazzola conducts the production directed by Annabel Arden.

Streaming Date: July 19, 2020

Both streams will be available for one week after their initial launch date.
