France’s Les Choregies d’Orange Festival has announced a cast change for its “La Gioconda” performance on August 6, 2022.

The festival noted that Csilla Boross will replace Saioa Hernández in the title role.

Hernández canceled her scheduled performance due to personal reasons and noted, “I’m sorry not being able to meet the public who had decided to be with me in this production.”

Boross is a Hungarian soprano who has performed at the Hungarian State Opera, Teatro Massimo Opera, Peralada Opera, Royal Opera House Muscat, Teatro alla Scala, Opera de Marseille, and Teatro Regio di Torino.

She is set to join a cast that includes Clémentine Margaine, Marianne Cornetti, Stefano La Colla, Claudio Sgura, and Alexander Vinogradov. Daniele Callegari conducts the production by Jean-Louis Grinda.
