Cornelius Meister Will Not Extend Contract with Staatsoper Stuttgart

German conductor Cornelius Meister has announced that he will not extend his contract with Staatsoper Stuttgart,

Meister began his tenure in 2018 and is set to remain with the company until 2026.

In addition to his position in Stuttgart, Meister is the Principal Guest Conductor of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. He has received an International Opera Award and has conducted such orchestras as the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Dresdner Philharmonie and the NDR Radiophilharmonie. He has also conducted at the Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera New York, and Opéra National de Paris.

This season, he conducts in Paris, Stuttgart, and Koln.
