The Connecticut Virtuosi is set to end its 2023 summer festival with a presentation of Stanislaw Moniuszko’s “Latin Mass in E-flat Major” on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

The showcase, which will take place at Cyril and Methodius Church in Hartford, Connecticut, kicks off at 12:30 p.m. and will star soprano Kelly Whitesell, alto Rebeca Almeida, tenor Josaphat Contreras, and bass David Kennedy.

The program will be conducted by Adrian Sylveen.

Moniuszko is commonly referred to as the “father of Polish national opera” and has become a major hero of Belarussian culture as well. He wrote over 300 songs and a dozen operas, including “Halka,” the most widely-known of Polish operas.
