The Opera Colorado announced its 2019-20 season but with the company also revealed its 2020-21 season.

In a statement, the company said, “although the 2020-21 season may seem far away (and subscriptions won’t go on sale until February 2020), we already have a lineup so thrilling that we can’t help but give you a sneak peek.”

The season is set to open with “The Shining,” based on Stephen King’s terrifying novel, by composer Paul Moravec and librettist Mark Campbell.

It will also include Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana” followed by Bizet’s ”Carmen.”

The announcement, however, did not include details on casting or productions. More information is set to be revealed next year in February.

The 2019-20 season is set to include “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Pagliacci,” and “Tosca.”
