Cincinnati Opera has unveiled several community programs and performances as part of its 2024 summer festival experience.

Among the events are “Opera Rap: Hausmusik: Mozart and Friends at Home,” an opportunity for audience members dive into Mozart’s work and life in anticipation of the company’s production of “Don Giovanni.” Audiences will hear music for piano, songs, and a string quartet throughout the evening.

Performance Date: Jan. 25, 2024

The next installment in the “Opera Rap” series is “Mozart’s Women,” a discussion led by Dame Jane Glover. Also a part of the event will be sopranos Jessica Rivera and Erin Keesy alongside Andrew Crooks.

Then the Cincinnati Opera Young Professionals perform in the “COYP Bacchanal.”

Next up is “Singers & Spirits: Revel OTR” featuring the Cincinnati Opera Young Professionals.

Next comes “Opera Rap: The Beatles Phenomenon,” inspired by Cincinnati Opera’s world premiere of “Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio.”

Performance Date: March 6 & 28, 2024

Then the Cincinnati Opera Young Professionals present “Singers & Spirits: Oakley Wines.”

Performance Date: March 14, 2024

Next up is “Singers & Spirits: MadTree Alcove” featuring the Cincinnati Opera Young Professionals.

Performance Date: April 11, 2024

“Opera Rap: Violetta’s Chosen Family” will be a preview of the company’s production of “La Traviata.” Dana Pundt and Pedro Barbosa perform excerpts.

Performance Date: April 17, 2024

Then comes “Opera Goes to Church!”

Performance Date: April 22 & 23, 2024

The company then heads to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden for “Back to the Zoo.”

“Divas & Diamonds” will feature the Cincinnati Opera Young Professionals.

Performance Date: May 23, 2024

“Opera Goes to Church!” features a performance in partnership with Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and Southern Baptist Church.

Performance Date: June 3 & 5, 2024

Then comes “Opera in the Park” to open the festival.

Performance Date: June 9, 2024

The company will then present a series of “Studio Sessions” with such artists as Jacqueline Echols McCarley, Elliot Madore, and Jessica Rivera.
