Danielle Pastin is in a coma following a car accident.

The Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s General Director Marianne Cornetti announced the news on social media stating, “Many of you know our beloved Artistic Administrator, cherished friend, and wonderful soprano, Danielle Pastin. It is with great sadness that I share that Danielle was involved in a horrific car accident last Thursday. She is currently in the Trauma ICU at Allegheny General Hospital with very serious injuries and remains in a coma.”

Cornetti added, “A SupportNow fund has been established to help Danielle and her family during this incredibly difficult time. I want to make sure that all of Pittsburgh Festival Opera’s wonderful donors, patrons, and friends have the opportunity to support them by contributing to this fund. Please keep Danielle and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they face the challenging days ahead. We are praying fervently for her recovery and remain hopeful that she will heal.”

Over the years, Pastin has performed at the Metropolitan, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Santa Fe, Austin, Nashville, Palm Beach, Arizona, Central City and Manitoba Operas. She has also performed at the Savonlinna Festival in Finland, the Macau-Beijing Festival in China, and at the Royal Albert Hall in London
