The Wigmore Hall announced via social media that due to illness, “Christoph Pohl is no longer able to take part in this concert, and the concert has therefore been canceled.”

Pohl recently made his debut in “The Merry Widow” at the Oper Frankfurt for New Year’s Eve and has two more performances on Jan. 6 and 20. This season, he can also be heard in the world premiere of Glanert’s “Oceane” in April 2019 at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.

He recently took on the title role in Rossini’s “Guillaume Tell” and Salieri’s “Falstaff” at the Theater an der Wien, Amfortas in “Parsifal” at Oper Vlaanderen, and the world premiere of Georg Friedrich Haas’ “Morgen und Abend” at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

The Wigmore Hall will reschedule the recital.
