CHORALSPACE is set to present “Verdi’s Requiem XXL,” featuring a 1,000-person choir.

Soprano Iwona Sobotka, mezzo-soprano Alexandra Urquiola, tenor Andrés Moreno García, and bass Gerard Farreras serve as soloists in Verdi’s Requiem. They are joined by the CHORALSPACE Festival Choir and international showcase choirs. Sergi Gili Solé directs the Rheinische Philharmonie.

Members of the international choir project come from Taiwan, Estonia, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Bulgaria, and Germany. The choirs prepare the eight-part Requiem independently, prior to rehearsals starting June 27 in Berlin.

The performance will take place on June 30, at 11 a.m., in the Great Hall of the Berlin Philharmonic.
