The Choral Society of the Hamptons will present “Grown on Long Island” on June 28 at the Avram Theater at SUNY Stony Brook.

Judith Clurman conducts the program, which celebrates the organization’s 80th anniversary and highlights composers and artists with Long Island roots.

The evening opens with the world premiere of “I Hear America Singing,” a new work by Annie Pasqua set to poetry by Walt Whitman. Other highlights include Billy Joel’s “And So It Goes” in a new choral arrangement by Doug Katsaros, a scene from Douglas Moore’s opera “The Devil and Daniel Webster,” and the New York premiere of Stephen Schwartz’s “Bloom” in a new arrangement by Ryan Nowlin.

The program also feature selections from John Williams’ scores for “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” and “Schindler’s List,” Schwartz’s “When You Believe” from “The Prince of Egypt,” whaling songs and a cappella arrangements including Ryan Nowlin’s setting of “Shenandoah,” and selections from the “Washington Women” cycle co-created by Clurman and David Chase. Shane Schlag joins at the piano and Coleman Itzkoff on cello.

“It is an honor to conduct this music while celebrating where I come from — Long Island,” said Clurman, per an official press release.

The concert kicks off at 5:30 p.m. local time.
