The Choral Arts Society of Washington and Washington Performing Arts will team up to present the 38th-annual “Living the Dream…Singing the Dream” on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore.

The concert, titled “We Are One: A Global Song for Justice and Unity,” honors the inclusive vision of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through choral music spanning generations and traditions. The program features the Choral Arts Symphonic Chorus under Marie Bucoy-Calavan and the Washington Performing Arts Men, Women, and Children of the Gospel Choirs under Michele Fowlin, with guest director David Powell.

The ensembles perform selections including Brent Jones’s “Open Your Mouth to Say Something,” Nolan Williams Jr.’s “We Are the Ones to Heal Our Land, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and Vincent Bonahan’s “We Win” with the Sounds of Victory Choir.

“Living the Dream…Singing the Dream is rooted in the gospel tradition—music born from struggle, resilience, and faith in a better tomorrow,” said David Powell, Washington Performing Arts Director of Gospel Music Programs, per an official press release. “This concert is not just something you watch; it’s something you feel and take part in, as voices across generations come together to lift up truth, joy, and the call to keep moving Dr. King’s dream forward.”
