
Chicago Fringe Opera Announces New Executive Director
By Francisco SalazarChicago Fringe Opera has announced Caitlin McKechney as its new Executive Director.
In her new position, McKechney will work with George Cederquist and Cathy O’Shaughnessy.
McKechney has performed at Operapalooza as “Head Cowgirl” of The Opera Cowgirls and also served as co-producer of the festival. She is a graduate of the Beth Morrison Project Producers Academy and served as Associate Producer for projects with American Opera Projects and Creative Producer for “Carmen,” “The Traveler” with Pensacola Opera.
She has performed with Nashville Opera, Opera Memphis, New York Lyric Opera, Opera New Jersey, Amore Opera, and Tacoma Opera, among others. McKechney has recorded Thomas Sleeper’s “Einstein’s Inconsistency” for Albany Records as well as Opera Cowgirls’ album, “Always Unplugged.”
