Chelsea Opera Group’s 2024-25 Season to Feature Works by Puccini, Lalo, Bellini, Verdi

Chelsea Opera Group has announced its 2024-25 season.

First up is a Puccini Centenary Concert featuring “Le villi,” “Capriccio Sinfonico,” and “Messa di Gloria.” The concert features Seljan Fermor-Hesketh, Charne Rochford, and Stephen Gass. Peter Robinson conducts.

Performance Date: Nov. 2, 2024

Paul Wingfield conducts a concert performance of Lalo’s “Le Roy d’Ys.”

Performance Date: March 30, 2025

Then comes a concert performance of Bellini’s “La Straniera.” Stephen Barlow conducts the performance. Bel Canto specialist Helena Dix stars as Alaide.

Performance Date: June 1, 2025

There will also be a 75th anniversary concert featuring Verdi’s “Macbeth” at Cadogan Hall. Grant Llewellyn conducts the famed work.

Performance Date: Autumn 2025

Over the years the Chelsea Opera Group has seen Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Mark Elder, and Sir Roger Norrington conduct while Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Sir Willard White, Sarah Walker, Sir John Tomlinson, Robert Lloyd and Jill Gomez have all performed with the company.
