Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical Announces 2023-24 Season

The Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical has announced its 2023-24 season featuring more than 204 concerts. Here are the vocal highlights.

Quiteria Muñoz  joins the Accademia del Piacere and Fahmi Alqhai for Músicas mestizas.

Performance Date: Oct. 8, 2023

The Accademia del Piacere performs alongside Núria Rial and Fahmi Alqhai.

Performance Dates: Oct. 16 & 18, 2023

Asier Puga and Grupo Engima are joined by Carlos Mena.

Performance Date: Oct. 23, 2023

Le Concert de la Loge and Philippe Jaroussky perform Forgotten arias.

Performance Date: Nov. 28, 2023

Alex Potter leads the Netherlands Bach Society in a Christmas concert. The program includes soloists Bojan Čičić, Miriam Feuersinger, Kristen Witmer, Thomas Hobbs, and Stephan MacLeod.

William Christie conducted Purcell’s “The Fairy Queen” with Paulina Francisco, Georgia Burashko, Rebecca Leggett, Juliette Mey, Ilja Aksionov, Rodrigo Carreto, Hugo Herman-Wilson, and Benjamin Schilperoort.

Leonardo García Alarcón leads Monteverdi’s “Vespro della beata Vergine.” The production includes Mariana Flores, Deborah Cachet, David Sagastume Balsategui, Valerio Contaldo, Pierre-Antoine Chaumien, Alejandro Meerapfel, and Rafael G.

Performance Date: Jan. 28, 2024

Thibault Noally conducts Handel’s “Rinaldo” with Carlo Vistoli, Emőke Baráth, Lucile Richardot, Chiara Skerath, Anthea Pichanick, and Andrea Mastroni.

Performance Date: Feb. 4, 2024

Samuel Mariño performs works by Vivaldi, Scarlatti, and Porporra alongside Marcello di Lisa.

Performance Date: Feb. 21, 2024

The Accademia del Piacere and Fahmi Alqhai perform alongside Alba Carmona, Núria Rial, Patricia Guerrero, Ellavled Alcano, Dani de Morón, and Antonio Ruz.

Performance Date: Feb. 27, 2024

The Ensemble Sonido Extremo will be conducted by Jordi Francés and feature soprano Sarah Defrise. The program includes music by Zemlinsky, Olga Neuwirth and José Luis Turina.

María Cristina Kiehr, Jonatan Alvarado, and Ariel Abramovich lead the Josquin songbook.

Performance Date: March 7, 2024

Serena Pérez, Bruno Campelo, and Javier Blanco lead music by Scarlatti and Caldara.

Kangmin Justin Kim, Jeanine de Bique, Maite Beaumont, Liv Redpath, James Way, and Iestyn Davies lead Monteverdi’s “L’Incoronazion di Poppea.” Harry Bicket conducts.

Performance Date: March 17, 2024

Bach’s “St Matthew Passion” will be led by Christoph Prégardien and will star David Fischer, Pau Armengol, Mercedes Gancedo, Mireia Tarragó, Tànit Bono, Mercè Bruguera, Lara Morger, Matthew Thomson, and Guillem Batllori.

Josetxu Obregón conducts Scarlatti’s “Il giardino di rose.” The work stars Núria Rial, Alicia Amo, Luciana Mancini, Víctor Sordo, and José Coca Loza.

Performance Date: April 9, 2024

Facco’s “Las amazonas de España” will star María Espada, Giulia Semenzato, Lucía Martín-Cartón, Natalie Pérez, Manon Chauvin, and Belén Vaquero. Daniel Pinteño conducts.

Aarón Zapico conducts Scarlatti’s “La Silvia” alongside Jone Martínez, Carlos Mena, and Alberto Palacios

Performance Date: April 23 & 24, 2024

Romina Lischka conducts works by Barbara Strozzi. Soloists include Dorothee Mields and Hana Blažiková.

Performance Date: May 10, 2024

Francesco Corti conducts Handel’s “Berenice, Regina d’Egitto” with Sandrine Piau, Arianna Vendittelli, Paul-Antoine BenosDijan, Ann Hallenberg, Hugh Cutting, and John Chest.

Performance Date: May 19, 2024

Václav Luks conducts Rameau’s “Les Boréades” with Deborah Cachet, Caroline Weynants, Philippe Talbot, Reinoud van Mechelen, Benoît Arnould, and Nicolas Brooymans.

Performance Date: May 26, 2024

Franco Fagioli leads Handel’s “Tolomeo, re d’egitto” with Christophe Dumaux, Giulia Semenzato, Andrea Mastroni, and Giuseppina Bridelli. Giovanni Antonini conducts.

Performance Date: June 9, 2024
