Central City Opera will be partnering with National Jewish Health in a bid to keep company and audience members safe during the 2021 festival season.

Per a press release, the experts at National Jewish Health are working with Central City Opera to create a series of COVID-19 protocols to ensure that neither performers nor audience members are at risk for the virus and can safely attend and participate in performances.

All performances will be in outdoor, open-air spaces with socially distanced seating for audience members. There will be an implementation of daily health screenings for company members as well as COVID-compliance training for Central City Opera staff.

“Central City Opera is pleased to partner with National Jewish Health as we continue to monitor the impact of COVID on our Festival operations,” said Pelham “Pat” Pearce, General/Artistic Director at Central City Opera, in a press release. “We are thankful to have National Jewish Health as such a wonderful resource in our community to help us prioritize the safety of our patrons and company members.”

Central City Opera’s 2021 festival includes productions of “Carousel” and “Rigoletto.”
