Catalina Bertucci, Emanuela Galli, Andreas Scholl Star in Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival 2026

The lineup for the 2026 Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival is announced.

This article only features vocal concerts. 

Ensemble Correspondances presents “Apollo, God of Light” with direction from Sébastien Daucé. The concert features opera scenes from Cavallis’ “Ercole amante,” Campras’ “L’Europe galante,” and Rameaus’ “Anacréon”

The documentary on the Baroque opera production “Pastorelle en musique” from the Musikfestspiele 2021 is shown.

Performance Date: June 13, 2026


Soloists soprano Catalina Bertucci, tenor Sebastian Kohlhepp, and baritone Thomas E. Bauer perform with Capella Augustina and Chor Der Klangverwaltung in Haydn’s “The Creation.” Andreas Spering conducts.

Sopranos Emanuela Galli and Agnese Allegra, tenor Giacomo Schiavo, and La Venexiana perform works by Claudio Monteverdi in “Live reenactment of famous paintings by Caravaggio.” They are joined by harpsichordist Dario Carpanese. Gabriele Palomba directs.

Soprano Kaho Inoue, mezzo-soprano Ivana Sofia Ivanovic, tenor Léon Roch, and Arthur Baldensperger present Early Music in the classroom with Ensemble Kima.

Ensemble Kima gives the “Lunch Concert” with soprano Kaho Inoue, mezzo-soprano Ivana Sofia Ivanovic, tenor Léon Roch, and Arthur Baldensperger.

Countertenor Andreas Scholl performs works by George Frideric Händel and Antonio Caldara. He is accompanied by Dorothee Oberlinger on the recorder and Olga Watts at the harpsichord.

Christoph Willibald Gluck’s “Orpheus” stars Valer Sabadus, Julia Kirchner, and Anna Sayn. They are joined by the Cantus Thuringia, Baroque Orchestra of the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-eisenach. Michael Hofstetter conducts.

Bass baritone Sreten Manojlovic performs with Freiburger Barockorchester in the concert, “Nocturnal Shadows and Rays of Light.” Dorothee Oberlinger directs.

Soprano Anna Herbst and flutist Camilla Hoitenga and Sjaella perform along the route of the Bicycle Concert Tour 1.

Ars Choralis Coeln presents Hildegard von Bingen’s “Ordo Virtutum.”

Mezzo-soprano Clare Wilkinson performs in “Morpheus Keeps Watch.”

Giovanni Battista Bononcini’s “Cefalo e Procride” stars Jiayu Jin, Yuri Mynenko, Chloë Morgan, Jonathan Eyers, and Anita Rosati. Kademie für Alte Musik Berlin is led by Bernhard Forck. Michiel Dijkema is the director and stage and lighting designer. Jula Reindell is the costume designer.

Seicento Vocale is led by Alexander Toepper in the concert, “Birds of the Night.” Salome Kammer and organist Johannes Geffert also perform.

George Frideric Händel’s “Il Trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” is performed by Dennis Orellana , Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli, Alois Mühlbacher, and Daniel Behle. They are joined by Ensemble 1700 directed by Dorothee Oberlinger. Nils Niemann is the scenic director.

Performance Date: June 27, 2026


Closing out the festival is “A Midsummer Music Mix of Baroque, Traditional and Popular Compositions.” Soprano Anna Dennis, countertenor Morten Grove Frandsen, and violinist Kreeta-Maria Kentala perform with the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra conducted by Aapo Häkkinen.
