Cast for Renée Fleming’s ‘The Light in the Piazza’ In Chicago Unveiled

The full cast for the upcoming “The Light in the Piazza” at the Lyric Opera of Chicago has been unveiled.

Renée Fleming is set to lead the cast, joined by Rob Houchen as well as three-time Olivier Award winner Alex Jennings. Solea Pfeiffer will also star alongside Marie McLaughlin, Eric Sciotto, and Suzanne Kantorski. Other cast members include Malcolm Sinclair, Rhona McGregor, Matthew Woodyatt and ensemble members Jordan Castle, Nicholas Duncan, Chlöe Hart, Molly Lynch, Tom Partridge, and Monica Swayne.

The production, as directed by Daniel Evans will be conducted by Kimberly Grigsby.

In its review of the Los Angeles Opera rendition of this production, OperaWire noted, “ Fleming… her natural voice rang out on the show’s most important word, ‘love’ on ‘Love if you can Clara/ Love and be loved,’ was greatly appreciated.”

“The Light in the Piazza” opens on Dec. 14 and runs through Dec. 29, 2019.
