The Teatro Bellini di Catania has announced a cast change for its production of “Aida.”

The company said that Marigona Qerkezi would replace Valentina Boi for the performances on the Jan. 21 and 27.

Qerkezi recently performed the work at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opera de a Coruna, Polish National Opera Teatr Wielki in Warsaw and at Dubai Opera House, and has become a recognized Verdi soprano, singing many of his works at the Teatro Regio di Parma, Opera Royal de Wallonie Liege, Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, and Teatro Comunale di Piacenza.

The soprano is set to join a cast that includes Marco Berti, Irene Savignano, Simon Orfila, and Alberto Gazale. Fabrizio Maria Carminati conducts the production by Marco Vino. 

Boi is still scheduled for the Jan. 24 performance.
