The Royal Opera House has announced a cast change for its production of “Rigoletto.’

The company said that Luca Salsi replaces Daniel Luis de Vicente in the title role.

Salsi is a renown Verdi interpreter who has performed the role at the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and Teatro La Fenice, among others. He has also performed at the Teatro alla Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, Washington National Opera, Salzburg Festival, Los Angeles Opera, Berlin Staatsoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and Teatro Real in Madrid.

He joins a cast that includes Rosa Feola, Liparit Avetisyan, Alexander Köpeczi, and Elena Maximova. Mark Elder conducts the production by Oliver Mears.
