The Teatro Real and Las Palmas have announced a cast change for the upcoming performances of “Luisa Fernanda.”

Luis Cansino will sing the role of Vida in the famed Zarzuela, replacing the originally announced José Antonio López.

Cansino will sing the two concert performances on Oct. 20 and Oct. 25 alongside the Filarmónica de Gran Canaria and conductor Karel Mark Chichon.

He will also join a cast that includes Elīna Garanča, who will sing the title role and make her Zarzuela debut. Ismael Jordi, María José Moreno, and Milagros Martín also star in the performances.

Cansino is a well-known Spanish baritone who has performed at teh Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro de la Zarzuela, and Teatro de la Maestranza, among others.
