The Teatro Villamarta De Jerez in Spain will resume performances on Jan. 22 & 24 2021, with a production of Verdi’s operatic masterwork “Il Trovatore.”

The opera will star soprano María Katzarava in the role of Leonora, tenor Andeka Gorrotxategi as Manrico, baritone Luis Cansino in the role of Count Luna, and mezzo-soprano María Luisa Corbacho as Azucena. The cast will also include soprano Patricia Calvache, bass Javier Castañeda and tenor Fran Gracia.

José María Moreno conducts the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga in a new production by Marta Eguilior.

The opera house is also planning to stage Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in June 2021.
